Sierra Region

56% of the country’s total coffee is grown in this region

  • Ranked 1st in the world as a coffee producing region
  • 238,000 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees.
  • The estimated population is 2.714 million inhabitants.
  • Its surface area is 666,852 km².
  • It is made up of five departmentsLoreto, Amazonas, San Martin, Ucayali and Madre de Dios.

Coastal Region

22% of the country’s total coffee production is grown there.

  • Ranked 2nd in the world as a coffee producing region
  • 93,501 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees.

  • It is made up of eleven departments and one constitutional provinceTumbes, Piura, Lambayeque, La Libertad, Ancash, Lima, Callao (constitutional province), Huancavelica, Ica, Arequipa, Moquegua and Tacna.
