Oromia
59% of the country’s total coffee is grown in this region
- Occupies the 1st place as a coffee producing region
- 309,750 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees
- The estimated population is 35 million inhabitants
- Its surface area is 286,612 km².
- It consists of twelve zones: Arsi Zone, Bale Zone, Borena Zone, Illubador Zone, Yima Zone, West Hararghe Zone, East Hararghe Zone, West Shewa Zone, East Shewa Zone, North Shewa Zone, West Welega Zone and East Welega Zone.

Sidama
22.05% of the country’s total coffee is grown in this region
- Occupies the 2nd place as a coffee producing region
- 115,762 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees
- The estimated population is 3.2 billion inhabitants .
- Its area is 12,000 km²
- It consists of a single zone: Zone Sidama

Nations and Peoples of the South
11.95% of the country’s total coffee is cultivated in this region
- Occupies the 3rd place as a coffee producing region
- 62,737 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees
- The estimated population is 14.703 million inhabitants
- Its surface area is 496,425 km².
- It consists of eleven zones and two special woredas: Sheka Zone, Kaffa Zone, Bench Maji Zone, Dawro Zone, Southern Omor Zone, Gamo Gofa Zone, Segen Village Zone, Wolayita Zone, Gedeo Zone, Hadiya Zone, Gurage Zone, Woreda Konta, WoredaBasketo, Woreda Alaba, WoredaYem, Woreda KembataTembaro and Woreda Silt’e.

Harari
5% of the country’s total coffee production is grown there.
- Occupies the 4th place as a coffee producing region
- 26,250 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees
- The estimated population is 2,724 million inhabitants
- Its surface area is 17,935 km².
- It consists of a single zone: Zone Harari

Gambella
1% of the country’s total coffee is grown in this region
- Ranked 5th place as a coffee producing region
- 5,251 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees.
- The estimated population is 306,401 inhabitants
- Its surface area is 27,569 km².
- It is made up of three zones: Nuer Zone Nuer Zone, Anuak Zone and Mezhenger Zone.

Benishangul - Gumaz
1% of the country’s total coffee is grown in this region
- Ranked 6th place as a coffee producing region
- 5,250 hectares are cultivated with coffee trees
- The estimated population is 563,494 million inhabitants.
- Its surface area is 49,913 km².
- It consists of three zones and two special woredas: Asosa Zone, Kamashi Zone, Woreda Mao Komo and Woreda Pawe.
Ethiopia grows coffee in 6 of its 10 regions.
Addis Ababa, Afar, Amhara, Dire Dawa, Somali and Tigray do not grow coffee.
