CLARA MOLINA'S COFFEES
MEKBUDA
MEKBUDA is the Star that gives its name to all the coffee lots produced by Clara Molina in her Villa Inés farm located in the coffee growing region of Huila.
The lots are differentiated by their different characteristics in terms of flavor, aroma and processes. Each coffee grower receives the name of a star to denominate his lots, thus forming a great coffee universe.

THE PRODUCERS
Clara Molina and Carlos Castañeda
Villa Inés Farm
Clara Molina and Carlos Castañeda are the couple who run the Villa Inés farm, and they and their family work and live on the farm.
Carlos had dedicated himself to work in the sugar cane and panela crops until 1998 when he joined the army. Clara is the third generation of coffee growers in her family, she decided to try her luck in the urban area and look for work there, but the situation for women was difficult, and she did not have job stability. Clara’s father was the one who encouraged and supported the couple to invest and buy the Villa Inés farm.
When they bought the farm, it was in bad condition, the coffee plantations and the house were abandoned and there was no mill, so they had to go to the neighbor’s house to mill their coffee, and there was no road to enter the farm directly. Little by little, with the help of the family, their loved ones and hard work , they managed to improve the farm and the facilities until they achieved what is today the family’s home.
Clara and Carlos feel fulfilled and happy with what they do, they are eager to learn and to undertake new projects to continue working and building, dedicating themselves to coffee growing is the best decision they made.
