ASSOCIATION IN THE REGION OF TOLIMA
Production
Panche Siquila coffee is produced by an association made up of traditional producers, traders, researchers and industrialists who seek to contribute to the generation of employment and the strengthening of the agricultural sector of coffee growing. The objective is to organize the region’s coffee growers, improving productivity and quality through technological research, thereby increasing the income of the growers’ families and improving their standard of living. Another of its points is to contribute to the improvement and sustainable management of the environment, through the use of organic inputs.

The coffee growing region of Tolima is located in the center-west of the country, bordering with the regions of Caldas, Cundinamarca, Cauca and Huila, in this region live 1.3 million inhabitants and its surface area is of 23,562 km², Tolima has 38 coffee growing districts among them Planadas, Ibagué, Chaparral, …, these districts are home to more than 60,000 families dedicated to coffee growing.These districts are home to more than 60,000 families dedicated to the cultivation of coffee. In total there are 106,742 hectares dedicated to the cultivation of coffee in the region, the most cultivated varietals are Castillo, Cenicafé 1, Colombia and Tabi. Tolima occupies the 3rd place as a coffee growing region in the country.
