Las Brisas farm is located in the coffee-growing region of Nueva Segovia, specifically in the coffee-growing district of Mozonte, in the community of Los Arados. Hugo Nuñez is the owner of the farm, he bought it in 2012.
The name of the farm comes from the fact that it is located at an altitude of 1,450 meters above sea level, which is why the farm is almost always breezy.
The farm has a total area of 12 manzanas – 8.45 hectares – in which the following coffee varieties are grown: red Catuaí and yellow Catuaí.
The coffee is grown in a sustainable manner, respecting the natural habitats of the area’s fauna, while protecting and conserving water sources and flora, and is shaded by native forest species, mosses and fruit trees.
The coffee harvest is manual and only ripe beans are selected, then Hugo supervises all the stages of the processes, from picking to when the coffee is bagged. He is passionate about coffee growing and loves to innovate with the processes, learn new techniques for the cultivation and apply them in his coffees to improve the lots.
