La Libertad farm is located in the coffee-growing region of Nueva Segovia, specifically in the coffee-growing district of Mozonte, in the community of Los Arados. Danys Joel Pastrana is the owner of the farm since 2015, he is dedicated to coffee growing by family tradition.
La Libertad has a total area of 60 manzanas – 42.25 hectares -, 10 of which are dedicated to coffee cultivation – 7.10 hectares -. The coffee varietals grown on the farm are: Catuaí red and Caturra, Ovata and Maracaturra.
The coffee is grown in a sustainable manner, respecting the natural habitats of the area’s fauna, and protecting and conserving the water sources and flora, with native forest species and fruit trees.
The coffee is harvested by hand and only ripe beans are selected, then Danys supervises all stages of the process, from picking to when the coffee is bagged. He is passionate about coffee growing and loves to innovate with the processes, learn new techniques for cultivation and apply them to his coffees to improve the lots.
