The Retana Farm is owned by the Cofiño family since 1932, the farm is located in the coffee region of Antigua, specifically in the district of Sacatepéquez.
The name Retana comes from the fact that before it was owned by the Cofiño family, some friars lived there, and their main representative was Father Retana.
Initially, sugar cane and cattle were grown on this Farm, but later it was totally converted into a coffee plantation. Today the Farm, located between 1525 and 1550 meters above sea level, cultivates 62.5 hectares of Coffee of the Arabica Species of the Bourbon Yellow and Caturra Varietals. Annual production is approximately 1,135 parchment coffee bags of 60 kilos.
The Farm Retana is home to some 20 families who are provided with free housing and education for workers and their families, as well as basic services such as electricity and potable water.
Together with the Cofiño family team, we developed the batches with state-of-the-art Processes with the name of the star Alnilam.
