Mati Bati’s Uraga farm and exporting company is located in Ethiopia in the Guji coffee growing region, specifically in the Hamballa-Wamena district of the Bati family. The name Uraga is a name that the Bati family has been using for a long time and symbolizes Guji as a tribe and pays homage to the father of the family. Mati Bati and her family were raised in an area where Coffee is not only for agriculture but also as an integral part of cultural ceremonies that are shared with family and friends to build friendship and respect. In addition to the farms, this family had been supplying coffee to the central market for decades before the start of the exporter, which is why for this family producing the best coffee is an easy task. The Uraga farm covers 600 hectares with approximately 300 hectares planted in coffee. It is located in Hamballa Wamena, Oromia. The farm employs 30 full-time permanent workers and 250 seasonal workers who select the ripe coffee cherries starting in November.
